It's one thing to have a website, but wouldn't it be great to do your own small wording changes or add some more info/news to the frontpage? Maybe you have product/service pdfs that you would like to have available for download?

Introducing our very own content management system (CMS)...

Logging in

When you get your editable website, you will be given a log-in url that you navigate to if you want to edit your site. You will be presented with a standard user authentication screen where you need to type in your special username and password. Once correctly submitted, you will auto-navigate to your website's homepage, except this time, you will notice a top bar...

CMS Editing bar

This bar will appear on every page of your website when logged in. It provides you with the ability to rename the page (WARNING - changes the url address of that page), amend the page's title, meta description and keywords (used by search engines to help you rank in their listings). It also contains the 'update' and 'log out' buttons. For any changes to be saved, you will need to click 'update'. And at the end of your editing session, click 'logout' for security purposes.

Versioning

The other main feature you will notice on the CMS editing bar, is our versioning system. This is kind of like Windows restore, allowing you to record the last 10 versions of any of your webpages. To view a previous version (dated and time-stamped for your convenience), just choose the version and the page will auto-change. NOTE: if you want to make the currently displayed version into the latest, you will need to update!

WYSIWYG editor

To edit the content of each page, you will see a WYSIWYG editor displayed around your page's content. This is just like Windows Word software and allows you to bold, italicise, underline, etc. Also, you can uplaod new images and set their position on the page, and upload pdf files and have them linked to on your site too.
